Glastonbury Festival since 2019, we return to Worthy Farm from 22nd-26th June. The first wave of artists was announced earlier this week. Headliners Billie Eilish, Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar join West Holts headliner Little Simz, in addition to the legends slot act, Diana Ross. On the poster/bill are the likes of Wet Leg, TLC, The Avalanches, Phoebe Bridgers, and Supergrass. There are more names to come but, after a tough couple of years, it is a relief to have the festival back! The calibre of the artists already announced means those lucky enough to have tickets are in for a treat! Let us hope that, by June, the weather improves – and the terror and war in Ukraine is over and we can return to some form of stability and peace. It will be a cathartic and wonderful celebration in Somerset in the summer. Paul McCartney headlines Saturday night; he turns eighty a week before doing his much-awaited set. Alongside him are some icons and legends of music, in addition to some newer artists who are getting this incredible platform. There will be coverage on the BBC in June. To mark the names that have already been confirmed, I have assembled a playlist of a song from those wonderful acts. In the verdant and buzzing fields of Worthy Farm in June, the amazing panoply of stunning artists will be there to soundtrack a celebration.
