I have been thinking about bands like ABC, XTC and R.E.M. I don’t think I have done this before, but I wanted to compile songs from groups whose names are acronyms. Whether true acronyms – the band has said as such – or not, it intrigued me. In fact, I am also including band names that are abbreviations or initials. In any case, this Lockdown Playlist is all about tracks from groups that are not words but letters – in the form of acronyms or abbreviations. It has been interesting compiling the playlist.
